Here’s how to apply gold leaf

Prepare the surface: Clean the surface you want to apply gold leaf to, ensuring it is free of debris and dust. If you’re working with a porous surface, apply a layer of gesso or primer to help the gold leaf adhere better

Apply gold leaf: Gently lay the gold leaf sheet over the tacky adhesive, using a soft-bristle paintbrush to smooth out any wrinkles or air bubbles
Seal the gold leaf: To protect the gold leaf from tarnishing, apply a sealer or varnish after the gold leaf has dried. Use a solvent-based varnish for best results
Clean up: Use a shop vacuum to remove any excess gold leaf and clean your work area
Remember to work in a well-ventilated area and wear a mask to avoid inhaling the gold leaf particles
